Many are the quality and manufacturing features of the kit: die-cast aluminium micro-ballast; General Electric lamp, considered the best xenon discharge lamps worldwide – screened 6,000 °K H7R lamp for better yield on road (screened lamps optimise the luminous beam avoiding glare –screened cable with zero radio emissions (absolutely necessary when, on the motorbike, you have sophisticated electronic plants such as ABS, ASC, RDC, ESA, electronic antitheft appliance, etc.) – quick 100% waterproof connectors – label data clear and complete.
Made in Italy – Warranties: two years (ballasts) and one year (lamp).
Inside the kit are present clear directions in Italian.
AGB Technology’s ballast is the first one the world over with screened cable and lighter, with zero radio emissions.
Homologations and certifications: micro-ballast homologated by the Ministry for Transports, E13 - General Electric lamp homologated E1 - E.S.D. test: EN61000-4-2 - E.M.I. test: CISPR 22 - Salty fog test: DIN 50021 - Resistance to water test: EN 60529 - Complies with MIL norms - Vibration test: IEC 68-2-6 - Resistant to vibrations (unpaved roads, off-road driving, etc.).
The package contains: 1 micro-ballast, 1 screened lighter, 1 screened connection cable (length: cm. 57/150), 1 H7 R screened xenon lamp, 6000 °K, assembly harness and accessories, installation scheme, warranties: 2 years on micro-ballast, 1 year on the lamp.
Size of micro-ballast: cm. 12* x 7.3 x 2.4 (h) - * the length includes also the fastening points.
Size of screened lighter: cm. 6x 2.5x 2.3 (h).
WARNING: even if the product complies with SAE, TÜV and DOT certifications, it is not homologated for driving on the road.
Importance of screening: the xenon conversion kits which do not employ screened cables and lighters may emit electromagnetic interference. Such electromagnetic interference may also provoke dangerous anomalies in the working of the motorbike electric/electronic plant.
What xenon light is: a xenon lamp is a micro-discharge bulb filled with a mixture of noble gases (among which also xenon). The bulb has no filament, as happens with halogen lamps, but light is created between two electrodes. Xenon lamps constitute the light source with the highest energetic efficiency so far attained thanks to technology.
What the advantages of xenon light are: xenon lamps provide more than three times the light of common halogen ones, but consume just a little over half of the power. So the driver can see better and the car has more energy at its disposal for other functions. Also, it is more convenient because less power means less fuel consumption. The brilliant white light produced with these lamps is similar to daylight and favours prompt reflexes.
Advantages of xenon lamps compared with halogen ones: the luminous yield of a xenon lamp, exceeding three times that of halogen ones, favours active safety and comfort when driving at night or in unfavourable atmospheric conditions. Due to their high efficiency, discharge xenon lamps give out very little heat and, therefore, don’t overheat the parabolas of your lights.
What AGB Technology offers: more than three times the light of common halogen lamps; lamp duration (about 2,000 hours compared with the 300 of the traditional halogen lamps), highly, purely ghostlike white light, cold light lamps (they do not damage the parabola, or turn it yellow), added brightness for safe driving, highly stable light, custom-made, studied version to be applied on motorcycles.
